Sounds like you read the NDE (Near Death Experience) of Nellen-Thomas Benedict. Dr. Kenneth Ring documented it. I only got it in german and I don't really know where you can find that wonderfully strange description of our being. But heck, i guess it's worth looking for it. Good chance.
